From 35 Square Metres to a Nationwide Chain
Gottebiten En Gros AB consists of the store chains Gottebiten, SBG, and Godisfabriken – specialty stores for confectionery, beverages, tobacco, and nicotine products. The first Gottebiten store opened as early as 1997 in Svinesund, in a 35-square-metre location. Today, the company operates over 30 stores from Abisko in the north to Uddevalla in the south, with a central warehouse and head office in Strömstad.
With around 400 employees and a turnover of approximately 2 billion SEK, Gottebiten is the largest player in Sweden in border trade towards Norway – and is also active in Haparanda with trade towards Finland.

Besides happier customers, DCC also contributes to stronger profitability. The service generates an exchange commission corresponding to 1% of the transaction value, while the payout continues to be made in Swedish kronor. Thanks to the compensation generated by the service, Gottebiten's cost structure for card transactions looks significantly better.
