Customer story
SYNLAB on the crest of the wave of the prosperity boom
SYNLAB is Finland's largest private laboratory and imaging services provider, offering its services to consumers, businesses, and public sector customers. In response to the wellness boom and the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided to establish a special consumer brand called LOUNA, whose service portfolio includes a range of customized test packages for monitoring well-being.
"The new LOUNA service offers an easy way to explore different test options and choose the test or test package that suits your life situation," says Petriina Rinne, who works at SYNLAB as Design Development Manager and product owner of the LOUNA Lab service. The benefits of LOUNA include a smooth online service, fast sampling, and a special My LOUNA section where customers can view their results shortly after sampling. Interest in personal well-being was already on the rise before the pandemic, which, according to Rinne, has also been evident at SYNLAB: "People no longer seek testing only when problems or symptoms arise, but rather take a preventive approach to their own health." The coronavirus pandemic has further increased demand for services as information about risk factors and factors affecting recovery from the disease has become more accurate. On the other hand, the pandemic has also posed its own challenges for service providers. "The coronavirus pandemic has naturally led to more sick leave than usual. Work shifts have been actively reorganized to maintain the level of service," says Rinne.
Smooth payment solutions from Nets
SYNLAB and LOUNA emphasize customer focus and user-friendliness in their operations. Nets' comprehensive range of services helps them achieve this in terms of payment solutions. SYNLAB and Nets had been working together for a long time before LOUNA was founded, so Nets was the natural partner when building the new service. "It was easy to separate the two brands into different portals and accounts, and we received support in setting up the new online store quickly and easily. It is important to me that we can quickly contact the service provider when necessary, and our contact person has done a really good job in this regard," Rinne praises. SYNLAB uses both physical payment terminals and an online store solution from Nets. LOUNA only accepts digital payments, so it uses only Nets' online store solution. "Nets offers several payment options in its e-commerce solution, which are easy to add and remove. The views visible to customers can be customized as needed. Nets is already a familiar service provider to many customers, and paying through it is quick and easy. The service is also reliable, meaning there are no service interruptions. The portal also offers several ready-made reports that can be used to monitor sales from different perspectives," says Rinne, listing the advantages of Nets' e-commerce solution. Similarly, Nets' physical payment terminal solutions have been found to be a good solution at SYNLAB: "The payment terminals are reliable and are considered easy to use from the perspective of both customers and staff," Rinne summarizes. SYNLAB also uses Nets' gift card solution. The company is currently exploring the possibility of introducing digital gift cards in addition to physical gift cards. Gift cards have been an excellent addition to SYNLAB's service offering. "Gift cards are sold especially during peak seasons, such as Christmas, Mother's Day, and Father's Day," says Rinne. People's interest in their own health and well-being shows no signs of waning, which has also been noticed at SYNLAB. According to Rinne, the successful collaboration with Nets will continue into the future. "We will definitely continue our collaboration with Nets, and we may expand our operations in the future through Nets' partners and new payment methods."
